The 2023 Virginia Africa Partnership Youth Leadership & STEM Award Ceremony took place in Richmond Virginia. Date May 20,2023- Five students with GAP over 3.0were awarded.
The Mission of the VAP Youth Leadership and STEM Award is
- To inspire more young people in Virginia, particularly girls and minority Black students, to develop a keen interest in STEM and pursue the study of STEM subjects and relevant future pathways
- To motivate young people for a higher sense of leadership
- To foster innovation and cross-cultural awareness.

Who We Are
Virginia Africa Partnership is a non-profit and non- partisan organization that strives to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Africa and The US, to foster innovation, to create wealth and employment and enhance mutual understanding for a healthier and prosperous world
- Through the US-Africa Mayor’s Initiative, we endeavor to facilitate high level dialogue that inspire and empower cities to mobilize resources to address the challenges posed by rapid urbanization, to engage in global advocacy, and exchange game-changing practices and technologies to become the drivers of innovation and productivity for a bright future of the humanity.

- We work to boost trade and investment opportunities through the organization of trade missions and business networking events.
- We foster minority and women owned small business by advocating for the transfer of technology and expertise for the transformation of natural resources designed to spur growth. We nurture the collaboration of higher educational institutions and foster long- lasting for innovation, and for mutual understanding.

The 2024 US-Africa Mayor's Summit
October 22-24,2024. City of Manassas & Washington D C
Building on the legacy of the US-AFRICA Summit, the US-Africa Mayor’s Summit will serve as a plate-form for US and Africa municipal leaders, elected officials, policy makers, the business and philanthropic community and the African diaspora in the US to engage in high level dialogue, networking and learning opportunities leading to transformational change for the benefit of our cities and our people.
Under the theme of ” Building Trans-Atlantic Partnerships to Advance Innovation in Our Cities “, the 2024 event aims to inspire, engage and empower US and African mayors to start working together to tackle pressing challenges and serve as a gateway for inclusive economic growth while laying the foundation for partnerships that will enhance cultural and mutual understanding, enhance diplomacy, advance democracy, peace, global security and climate change.
Consequently, we strongly believe that African American, friends of Africa and the African diaspora should play a decisive role in the forging of this new shared vision. As a non-profit striving to strengthen economic and cultural ties between the US and Africa, we strongly believe that networking is the first step and the catalyst for learning opportunities and for the forging of sustainable partnership. The US- Africa Mayor’s Summit will take place in the US or on the African continent annually on a rotating basis.

2024 VAP Scholarship Gala
We are pleased to announce and invite you to our 2024 Youth STEM Fundraising Gala. This event intends to bring us together to celebrate our youth engaged in STEM studies and raise funds for student award. All funds raised from the donations and Gala ticket sales, go directly toward the scholarships for the newest Award Recipients.
Last year, VAP awarded more than 5 scholarships. Thanks to your support, this year, we wish award more than 15 scholarships. This year, you can help bring the upcoming gala and more scholarships into reality either by offering your time as a volunteer, giving generous donations, and items/ gifts for auctions.
