Impact Projects
Computers for Africa
The Computer for Africa Initiative is dedicated to fostering economic growth and enhancing community well-being across Africa through the power of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Our program focuses on spreading education in science and technology by expanding access to computers and other digital tools, thereby increasing computer literacy among students.
Our approach includes:
Distributing computers and other digital devices.
Establishing computer labs and repair centers.
Supporting distance and online learning.
By creating a comprehensive ecosystem, the VAP Computer for Africa Initiative aims to provide African students with the tools and skills they need to thrive in the digital age.
Currently, we are active in Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia, with plans to expand to additional countries.
We invite schools, colleges, universities, and companies to support our mission by recycling and donating their old computers to our program. Your contributions will play a vital role in empowering the next generation of African innovators and leaders.

Building on the legacy of the US-AFRICA Summit, the US-Africa Mayor’s Summit will serve as a plate-form for US and Africa municipal leaders, elected officials, policy makers, the business and philanthropic community and the African diaspora in the US to engage in high level dialogue, networking and learning opportunities leading to transformational change for the benefit of our cities and our people.
Under the theme of ” Building Trans-Atlantic Partnerships to Advance Innovation in Our Cities “, the 2024 event aims to inspire, engage and empower US and African mayors to start working together to tackle pressing challenges and serve as a gateway for inclusive economic growth while laying the foundation for partnerships that will enhance cultural and mutual understanding, enhance diplomacy, advance democracy, peace, global security and climate change.
Consequently, we strongly believe that African American, friends of Africa and the African diaspora should play a decisive role in the forging of this new shared vision. As a non-profit striving to strengthen economic and cultural ties between the US and Africa, we strongly believe that networking is the first step and the catalyst for learning opportunities and for the forging of sustainable partnership. The US- Africa Mayor’s Summit will take place in the US or on the African continent annually on a rotating basis.
