Our Mission
The Mission of Virginia Africa Partnership is to foster a strong partnership between Virginia and Africa by promoting entrepreneurship, increase trade opportunities, bridge collaboration between Virginia universities, particularly HBCU’S with African higher educational institutions and promoting sister-cities relationship between Virginia and Africa counties, cities and provinces.
Our Belief
Virginia Africa Partnership is guided by a core belief that when a group of diverse individuals come together, collaborate and dream together in pursuit of a shared goal, the team becomes more powerful and capable of igniting transformational change.
Our Objectives
Foster partnership through high level dialogue, networking and exchanges to inspire and empower for transformational change, economic growth, cultural and mutual understanding
Foster entrepreneurship and increase trade between Virginia and Africa and help African-American and other U.S.-based identify new markets and opportunities for growth.
Foster the building of industry infrastructure in African countries where there has historically been low-cost raw material or few input component suppliers.
Create marketplaces in Virginia for African-made products.
Create educational and cultural exchange partnerships between African higher educational entities and Virginian universities, particularly the HBCUs.
Strengthen ties between the African continent and the US, by Initiating Sister-Cities projects between
